The Far East of Russia is home to the world’s northernmost and largest tiger, the Amur tiger. It weighs up to 300 kg and can grow up to two meters in length, plus another meter for its tail.

Unlike its more warmth-loving relatives, the Amur tiger is well adapted to snow and freezing temperatures. Today, there are about 750 Amur tigers in the wild, mostly in Primorsky Krai.
