13 Russian athletes to perform at the 2026 Olympics in Italy (PHOTOS)
Adeliia Petrosian, 18 (Figure Skating)
This singles skater, born in 2007, is already a three-time Russian champion. However, it’s the athlete's first Olympics, where she was selected after winning a qualifying event. Adeliia has repeatedly performed the most difficult element in competitions, the quadruple Rittberger, as well as other triple and quadruple jump combinations.
Petr Gumennik, 23 (Figure Skating)
Petr became Russian champion in 2025 and had previously won a number of junior awards. It’s also the first Olympics for this figure skater.
Daria Nepryaeva, 23 (Cross-Country Skiing)
Daria is a second-generation skier. Her mother trains her, while her elder sister Natalia Terentyeva is already a three-time Olympic medalist. Daria participated in the 2022 Junior Olympics and also won the Junior World Championships. She is currently a two-time Russian champion.
Saveliy Korostelev, 22 (Cross-Country Skiing)
Another Olympic debutant is Saveliy, who has already won gold at the Junior World Championships twice. Saveliy is a multiple winner and medalist at Russian championships, with his strengths considered to be relay and team sprint events. In the latter discipline, he won gold at the 2025 Russian Championships paired with Olympic champion and renowned skier Alexander Bolshunov.
Ksenia Korzhova, 21 (Speed Skating)
The 3,000-meter distance gave the athlete the opportunity to qualify for the Olympics. A two-time Russian champion, she also won silver at the 2022 Junior World Championships.
Anastasia Semenova, 20 (Speed Skating)
In 2022, Anastasia became the most decorated participant at the Russia-China Youth Games, winning four gold medals in the 500 m, 1,000 m and 1,500 m distances, as well as in the team pursuit. In 2025, she became Russian champion.
Alena Krylovа, 23 (Short Track Speed Skating)
A multiple medalist of Russian Cups, Alena is also an International-Class Master of Sports of Russia. In 2025, she won Russian championships in two disciplines at once – All-round and the 500-meter distance.
Ivan Posashkov, 21 (Short Track Speed Skating)
This athlete's medal collection already includes a Russian championship gold, two Russian Cup wins and a Universiade gold.
Nikita Filippov, 23 (Ski Mountaineering)
Ski mountaineering will make its debut at the 2026 Olympics. The athlete from Kamchatka has been on skis since the age of two and has been practicing ski mountaineering since he was 12. He has participated in volcano ascents and international ski mountaineering starts, such as the ‘Kamchatka Race’. An eight-time Russian champion, Nikita also participated in the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne.
Daria Olesik, 21 (Luge)
This Siberian athlete started luge at the age of 10, inspired by the broadcasts of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. In 2019, she became a medalist at Junior World Cup stages and has repeatedly won and medaled at Russian junior and senior championships.
Pavel Repilov, 23 (Luge)
Luge is a family affair for this athlete. His older brother Roman Repilov is a world champion in the discipline and a participant in the 2018 PyeongChang and 2022 Beijing Olympics. Pavel himself placed second at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne and has also won gold at World Cups and Russian championships several times.
Semyon Efimov, 29 (Alpine Skiing)
Semyon won gold in slalom at the 2019 Winter Universiade and has placed at various Russian competitions several times. His performances at world championships have not yet been crowned with medals, but the athlete managed to qualify for the Olympics from sixth place.
Yulia Pleshkova, 28 (Alpine Skiing)
This alpine skier has already participated in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. She is a two-time Universiade bronze medalist and has repeatedly landed on World Cup podiums.
