From Britain to Russia: the story of one big move (VIDEO)

Why did a British journalist trade the UK for the frenzied pace of Moscow? Meet Danny Armstrong, the man who covered Russia’s biggest sporting moments for the world and stayed to build his own path, from boxing rings to language coaching.

Danny Armstrong, a native of Northern England, has been interested in sports since childhood and dreamed of being closer to big time events. University studies gave him interest in Russian culture and immersion in the language. All of this gradually led him to an unexpected turn of fate and his first trip to Russia became a completely new chapter in his life.

First, he visited the “cultural capital” on the Neva River, then Moscow, a megacity with a frenzied pace. There he worked in international journalism. The Englishman's main dream came true: Danny found himself at the center of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, covering the tournament for a foreign audience and showing Russia in a way that foreigners do not know.

Today, Danny is developing his own educational project in Moscow, helping people speak English fluently, practicing boxing and continuing to build a life where he once decided to stay. This is a journey of thousands of kilometers, which led to the most important thing, finding his place in this world.
