‘Pelmeni’ (dumplings) are one of the main dishes of Russian cuisine. They are made from dough with a filling of minced meat, salt, spices and sometimes onions. They are most often eaten with sour cream.
Many Russian regions offer their own versions of ‘pelmeni’: in Siberia, the stuffing is made of beef and pork, while stuffing with fish is popular in the Urals and, in the North, you can find ‘pelmeni’ made with game.
