Т – Толстой Алексей
Alexei Tolstoy (1883-1945), a distant relative of Leo Tolstoy, was nicknamed the ‘Red Count’ and was one of the most favoured and published authors of the Stalin era. He is best known for his epic historical novel ‘Peter the First’ and the dystopian science fiction tale ‘Aelita’, about a journey to Mars. However, he also contributed to socialist realism with works like ‘The Road to Calvary’.
