Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857-1935) was a self-taught genius, who laid the entire theoretical foundation for space exploration. He calculated rocket equations, designing space stations, airships and orbital habitats decades before the first airplane flight. His ideas even inspired Sergei Korolev, the head of the Soviet space program.
