Щ – Щусев Алексей

Alexey Shchusev (1873-1949) thrived in imperial Russia, the avant-garde 1920s and Stalin's empire. One of the most famous of his creations is the Lenin Mausoleum on the Red Square. He actually built it twice: first a wooden version, then the marble one we know today. His genius also gave Moscow the Kazan Station, the Moskva Hotel and the stunning ‘Komsomolskaya’ subway station.
