Lev Yashin (1929-1990) is the only goalkeeper ever to win the coveted Ballon d'Or. He had a revolutionary style of play: He would rush off his line to intercept crosses and start counterattacks. He saved over 150 penalties in his career and kept an incredible 270 clean sheets. He remains, decades after his death, the absolute best to ever play this position.
