Russian Wildlife ABC: Antur
This sea giant with a booming roar bears the name of a Russian scientist and its rookeries are the harsh protected islands of Russia.

The official name of this sea lion is Steller's sea lion, after a German scientist. But, in the Far East, it’s better known as ‘antur’. It has very unusual coloring – as if covered in little images of flowers. You can find them in the rookeries of the Commander and Kuril Islands.
