The European bison is the heaviest mammal you can encounter in Europe. This ancient bull can weigh up to 1,000 kg! It was once nearly wiped out, but, thanks to the creation of nature reserves, this forest giant has found a home again in Russia. It can be seen in the Moscow, Ryazan, Smolensk and Kaluga regions.
