Why did Napoleon appear on Soviet posters? (PICS)

Soviet propaganda actively exploited the image of the French emperor in the first months of the German invasion. The goal was to convince the Soviet public that Hitler would inevitably suffer the same inglorious defeat as Bonaparte suffered in 1812.
