Anna Ivanovna is sleeping, Petya is playing with the cat and Maria and John are talking to each other quietly.

Maria: Джон, вы англичанин?
John, are you English?

John: Да, я из Оксфорда. 
Yes, I'm from Oxford. 

Maria: Из Оксфорда? Вы преподаватель?
From Oxford? Are you a professor?

John: Совсем нет. Я сантехник. 
No, I'm a plumber. 

Maria: Это очень важная работа. 
That's a very important job. 

John: Это правда! А кто вы по профессии?
That’s true! And what's your profession?

Maria: Я врач.
I'm a doctor.

John: Вот это действительно важная профессия. Вы такая добрая и красивая. Везет вашим пациентам.
Now that really is an important profession. You are so kind and charming! Your patients are lucky.

Maria: Спасибо!
Thank you!

John: Кстати, моя мама и сестра тоже врачи.
By the way, my mom and sister are doctors, too.
