In Unit 3, we learnt the most common pattern for making plural forms of masculine and feminine nouns – adding ‘-ы’ or ‘-и’ endings. But, there are other subpatterns. Let's take a look at some of such subpatterns in the nouns referring to family members.

Some nouns have an entirely different word for plural, for example:

ребёнок – дети (child – children)

человек – люди (person – people)
