The verb ‘хотеть’ (‘to want’, ‘ to wish’) is an irregular verb and in the Present tense has the endings of both conjugations:

хотеть

я

хочу

ты

хочешь

он, она

хочет

мы

хотим

вы

хотите

они

хотят

NOTE!

  1. Singular forms have first conjugation endings, and plural forms have second conjugation endings.
  2. In singular forms, the ‘т’ in the verb stem changes to ‘ч’.
  3. Also note the shifting stress in the forms of ‘хотеть’. The stress falls on the stem in ‘хочешь’ and ‘хочет’. In all other forms, it shifts to the ending.
