International relations specialists are invited to join a FREE fellowship in Russia

The ‘InteRussia’ fellowship is being held from October 26 to December 6, 2026, at the Institute for International Studies of MGIMO University. Knowledge of Russian is not required, as the working language of the program will be English. 

As part of the program, participants will gain valuable insight into the Russian school of international relations, contemporary approaches to global political analysis, as well as Russian perspectives on the transformation of the global order and the evolution of international institutions.

You can take part if you:

  • are non-Russian citizenship, residence outside of Russia;
  • are between 25 and 39 years old;
  • have an English proficiency of at least C1 level;
  • absence of any employment/previous enrollment in academic programs/other relations with MGIMO University;
  • a Ph.D. degree or at least 3 years of working experience at academic institutions/think tanks, or Ph.D. studies in progress.

In addition to the academic component, the program offers a rich cultural and introductory track, including guided tours of Moscow, visits to the Tretyakov Gallery, Zaryadye Park, the ‘Russia’ National Center, the Kremlin and other prominent cultural venues and sites.

The internship will culminate in the preparation of a research paper on topics related to international relations, world politics or regional studies.

The ‘InteRussia’ fellowship program is implemented by the ‘Mezhdunarodniki’ Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and the Institute for International Studies of MGIMO University with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.

The Gorchakov Fund is a non-profit organization that promotes the development of ties between Russian and foreign civil societies. Over 15 years, more than 90,000 people from over 150 countries have taken part in the fund's programs and projects, while more than 500 international initiatives have received some form of grant support.
