How to get from Zhukovsky Airport (ZIA) to central Moscow
Public transport, taxi or car sharing – here are some fast and easy ways to reach downtown.
1. Suburban bus
The easiest way to get to central Moscow from Zhukovsky Airport is by bus № 441. The bus stop is located on the left side of the terminal exit. It takes about 60 minutes to get to the ‘Kotelniki’ subway station (the end of the purple line).
To get to the airport, you need exit 5 at ‘Kotelniki’ station. The ticket costs 92 rubles (approx. $1). You can pay right in the bus with a Russian debit/credit card or a ‘Troika’ card.

2. Express train + shuttle bus
If you don’t want to wait for the bus, you can take a shuttle bus from the airport (from the same bus stop) to the ‘Otdykh’ train station. From there, you can take an express train to ‘Kazansky’ railway station or ‘Vykhino’ subway station.
Total travel time will be about 60 minutes. The shuttle bus costs 100 rubles (~$1.10) and the train ticket costs 176-290 rubles (~$2.00-3.00), depending on the train. You can buy tickets at the airport or at the station.

3. Taxi
At the Zhukovsky Airport.
On the first floor, near the information booth, you can order a taxi. A trip from the airport to the city center costs about $20.
You can also book a taxi using the following apps:
– ‘Yandex GO’ iOS/Google Play /AppGallery (many languages).
– ‘Uber’ iOS/Google Play /AppGallery (many languages)
– ‘City Mobil’ iOS/Google Play /AppGallery (available in English).
You can choose payment in cash, if you don’t have a Russian debit/credit card.
4. Car sharing
You need an ID, a driver’s license, a Russian debit/credit card and a smartphone with a Russian SIM card. You’ll also need to sign a contract with the rental company, in order to access its vehicles (you can also do this online). The leading companies are: ‘Delimobil’; ‘Yandex.Drive’; and ‘BelkaCar’. You should download the apps in advance to find the nearest car.
Note that you can only start or end your car rental at Zhukovsky Airport at the long-term ‘P2’ parking lot in the area specially allocated for carshare parking.
