From England to Moscow: why a British man decided to link his future with Russia (VIDEO)
While many in the West see Russia through a geopolitical lens, British entrepreneur Guy Eames saw a land of opportunity. After decades of travel, he moved his family to Moscow and founded a community to help other expats thrive. In this interview, Eames shares why he chose Russia as his true home.
Briton Guy Eames first discovered Russia back in the late 1980s, at the height of the Cold War, when the country was perceived in a completely different way in the West.
Over the next decade he lived in the UK, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries, but again and again returned to Russia. Here Guy was engaged in business, telecommunications, and later in eco—friendly technologies and sustainable construction.
In 2021, Guy and his family finally moved to Moscow. They sold their house in England because they decided that their future lay in Russia.
And after 2022, Guy decided to help other foreigners who chose Russia for work or a better life. Together with like—minded people, he created The Bridge Club, a community that helps foreigners get to know each other, find business contacts and adapt to Russia.
