‘The Golden Age of Russian literature’ is how the 19th century is known as. It was during this time that world-famous works of Russian classics appeared. 

But, it all started with Alexander Pushkin. In his works, he combined high and folk styles, finding a capacious and understandable balance. He is considered the creator of the modern Russian literary language.
