A ‘rasstegai’ is a small pie with fish filling. They are traditionally baked open, as if “unbuttoned” at the top. 

For the filling, almost any fish will do. For festive events, however, Russians usually choose trout or salmon. In addition, the filling can include rice, greens and mushrooms.
