Being a towering figure of the Futurist literature movement, Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893-1930) was considered to be a revolutionary poet for the new Soviet era. Mayakovsky's new poetry took on new poetic dimensions. He favored short, jagged lines; this became his signature.
