Why a student from Algeria is learning Russian (VIDEO)
"It started by accident, but then, I fell in love... with the Russian language," says El-Khansa Djebbar.
El-Khansa studied Russian for three years in her homeland, Algeria. After getting her bachelor's degree, she moved to Russia and now she is studying at the Moscow City Pedagogical University and wants to become a translator and teacher.
El-Khansa speaks Russian with almost no accent and her team from Algeria took 3rd place at the most recent Russian Language Championship for Foreigners.
