A water dandy with a crest that dances on the water.

One of the most elegant waterfowl is the great crested grebe or ‘chomga’. It has a long, slender neck and a reddish crest on its head. The most spectacular sight is its courtship dance: the birds swim toward each other, shake their heads and even "dance" while standing upright in the water. The ‘chomga’ can be found in freshwater bodies – for example, in Moscow's city parks.
