Task 4: Listen to the audio & repeat the collocations
много работать to work a lot |
играть в футбол to play football |
играть в теннис to play tennis |
играть в компьютерные игры to play video games |
читать книгу to read a book |
слушать музыку to listen to music |
делать отчёт to do a report |
NOTE!
1) When you say ‘to play some sport/games’ in Russian, you need to use the construction “играть + в + [sport/game]”.
2) In all collocations above, nouns are used in the Accusative case, which indicates the object of the action. As it was said in Unit 2, in the Accusative case, feminine nouns change their ‘-а’ ending to a ‘-у’ ending, while other nouns don’t change. That’s why ‘book’ and ‘music’ have ‘-у’ ending in collocations:
книга → читать книгу
музыка → слушать музыку
