To ask or tell the name of a third person, we use the pronouns ‘его’ for male and ‘её’ for female, like in the examples below: 

1. Это мой друг. Его зовут Андрей.
This is my friend. His name is Andrei.

2. А: Это моя подруга.
В: Как её зовут?
А: Её зовут Надя.

A: This is my friend.
B: What is her name?
A: Her name is Nadya.

NOTE!

The syllable ‘го’ in ‘его’ is pronounced [‘во’]. So, ‘его’ is pronounced [‘ево’].
