B: It is a Russian cookie.
2. А: Что значит “книга”?
A: What does ‘kniga’ mean?
В: Это значит “book”.
B: It means ‘book’.
3. А: Как по-русски “tea”?
A: How do you say ‘tea’ in Russian?
В: Чай.
B: ‘Чай’.
If you come across an unfamiliar word in conversation, use the questions: “Что такое….?” or “Что значит…?”
If you want to say something, but don’t know the Russian word, ask: “Как по-русски…?”
