LESSON 7: КАКОЙ?

‘Какой?’ is a question word with the meaning ‘which’, ‘what’, ‘what kind of’. It agrees with the noun in gender, number and case, like an adjective. Below are the forms for the Nominative case:

Masculine	А: Это какой суп? В: Это борщ. А: What kind of soup is this? В: This is borsch.
Feminine	А: Это какая паста? В: Это паста “Карбонара”. А: What kind of pasta is this? В: This is pasta ‘Carbonara’.
Neuter	А: Это какое вино? В: Это красное вино. А: What kind of wine is this? В: This is red wine.
Plural	А: Это какие грибы? В: Это белые грибы. А: What kind of mushrooms are these? В: These are porcini mushrooms.
