LESSON 10: FUTURE TENSE

The future tense is formed by using the auxiliary verb ‘быть’ in the future tense and the infinitive form of the verb. For example:

1. А: Что ты будешь делать завтра?
В: Я буду смотреть сериалы дома.

A: What are you going to do tomorrow?
B: I will watch TV shows at home.

2. В Сочи они будут кататься на лыжах.
They will ski in Sochi.

3. Где вы будете ужинать завтра?
Where will you have dinner tomorrow?

These forms of the verb ‘быть’ are also used by themselves to express the future tense of the verb ‘to be’. For example:

1. Завтра будет тепло.
It will be warm tomorrow.

2. Я буду дома в 9.
I’ll be at home at 9.
