To ask about the location of a particular place or object, the phrases “где+smth” or “где находится+smth” are used. For example:

1. A: Извините, где находится отель? 
B: Вот он, справа.

A: Excuse me, where is the hotel located?
B: There it is, on the right.

2. A: Извините, где холодильник?
B: Вот он, внизу.

A: Excuse me, where is the fridge?
B: There it is, at the bottom.

NOTE! The phrase “Где находится” is more formal.

To say the location, the words ‘слева’ (‘on the left’), ‘справа’ (‘on the right’), ‘в центре’ (‘in the center’), ‘наверху’ (‘on top’), ‘внизу’ (‘at the bottom’) are used.  (We already learnt ‘слева’ and ‘справа’ in Unit 4).
