'Когда' is a conjunction of time used in compound sentences. It means 'when'.

1. Когда я ужинаю, я смотрю сериалы.
When I eat dinner, I watch TV shows.

2. Когда идёт дождь, я никуда не хожу.
When it rains, I don't go anywhere.

3. Когда у меня болит голова, я сразу принимаю таблетку.
When I have a headache, I immediately take a pill.

You can use ‘когда’ when talking about present, past or future.  

1. Present

Когда я работаю, я слушаю музыку.
When I work, I listen to music.

2. Past

Когда я учился в школе, я жил в Лондоне.
When I was at school, I lived in London.

3. Future

Когда будет жарко, мы будем плавать в море и загорать.
When it gets hot, we’ll swim in the sea and sunbathe.

NOTE!

1. The verb after ‘когда’ assumes the tense with the action it describes.

2. The order of the parts of the sentence can be changed without changing the meaning.

1. Когда идёт дождь, я никуда не хожу. = Я никуда не хожу, когда идёт дождь.

2. Когда я учился в школе, я жил в Лондоне. = Я жил в Лондоне, когда учился в школе.
