The verb ‘приехать’ means ‘to come, to arrive (by transport)’. It comes from the combination of the prefix ‘при-’ and the verb ‘ехать’. Thus, it is used when someone arrives at a place using transport (car, bus, train, etc).

1. Я приехал в Москву на поезде.
I arrived in Moscow by train.

2. Мы приехали домой вечером.
We arrived home in the evening.

NOTE!

If you arrive on foot, you don’t use ‘приехать’. Instead, you need to use ‘прийти’.

‘Приехать’ is a perfective verb. Thus, it only has future and past tense forms.
