How Moscow is decorated for the 2026 New Year (PHOTOS)
1. Enormous toy figurines, seemingly made from cotton wool, have appeared on Revolution Square.
2. Toy children ride sleds, eat candy, and help decorate a New Year’s tree.
3. Meanwhile, a "knitted" ball has been installed on Rozhdestvenka Street. Inside are kiosks with New Year's souvenirs.
4. The ‘TsUM’ department store, as in previous winters, has been decorated with ribbon and bows, like a giant gift.
5. A "theatrical" style fair has sprung up near the Bolshoi Theatre. The trees on the square in front of the theater have been decorated with large golden baubles and garlands.
6. A traditional fair with souvenirs and carousels has also opened on the Red Square, along with one of the capital's most beautiful ice skating rinks.
7. And the Russian State Library has been transformed into a blooming book garden.
8. On this year's New Year’s trees, you can see not only bright baubles and retro flags, but also horse figurines, the symbol of 2026.
9. Lubyanka Square also looks magical, where a huge New Year’s tree and light installations have been set up.
10. And, as per tradition, the country’s main New Year's tree is located in the Kremlin’s Cathedral Square.
