World’s LONGEST urban tram diameter line launches in Moscow
This is the second long-distance route connecting different districts of the capital.
The T2 ‘Chertanovo–Novogireevo’ tram diameter line passes through as many as 13 districts of Moscow! The total length of the route is 33 km (20.5 mi.), currently making it the longest urban tram route in the world.
There are a total of 79 stops along the way, including popular attractions such as Zaryadye Park, Danilov Monastery and Danilovsky Market. The total travel time between the terminal stops is roughly 140 minutes and trams run regularly at six‑minute intervals.
As mentioned above, this is already the second long-distance tram diameter in Moscow. The first one, T1, runs from ‘Universitet’ subway station to the ‘Metrogorodok’ stop. Its total length is 27 km (16.7 mi.).
