Words that sound different to how they're written
Russian pronunciation is not complicated at all. Here are some helpful tips!
1. The letters ‘сч’ together are pronounced as [щ].
2. The word ‘что’, as well as other words arising out of it - such as ‘чтобы’ - are pronounced with the sound [ш]. The exception is ‘нечто’.
