Acoustic booths have appeared in the Russian capital’s subway. You can book one on the spot or in advance, allowing you to communicate or work in complete silence.

Ever been in the subway and needed to make an important phone call or hold a video conference?

Well, now you can in the Moscow Metro! That’s because new acoustic booths have appeared in select stations, where you can communicate or work in complete sound isolation.

The first such booths can be found and used at the ‘Nizhegorodskaya’ and ‘Komsomolskaya’ stations. They’re designed for one person.

The door is made of translucent glass, preventing visibility into the user's device. Inside, there are USB and Type-C ports for charging phones and laptops, a workspace, good lighting and, most importantly, 100% soundproofing that blocks out outside noise.

Acoustic booths can be rented in two ways: book your preferred time slot in advance using a mobile app or reserve a time slot starting from 15 minutes by scanning a QR code on-site. The service will be free of charge until the end of 2025.
