This word entered world languages and has become an international concept, but its meaning can be quite different.
A troika is the famous Russian harness of three horses, a symbol of speed and prowess. The word entered European languages (English ‘troika’, German ‘Troika’) precisely in this meaning. However, it later also came to be used to describe a group of three officials or even organizations participating in managing a project.
